Top 3 Attractions in Chongqing, China

Chongqing, formerly romanized as Chungking, is a major city in southwest China.
It is a famous industrial city for car, motorcycles, small engines.
As a local people, I would to introduce top 3 scenic spots in Chongqing:
1) Hongya Cave (Hongyadong)
Hongya Cave has a history of over 2,300 years. It was a military fortress from the ancient Ba State (1046 B.C. – 256 B.C) to the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 – 1911), and was also the site of the earliest and most developed pier of ancient China. The site now houses a large-scale stilt house complex built alongside a steep cliff on the bank of Jialing River. It has become a popular destination for visitors to experience Bayu culture – a Chinese ethnic culture, gaze over the river, and taste delicious food. The stunning night view is a highlight and should not be missed.
How to get to Hongya Cave
By bus:
1. Take bus line 111, 151, 181, 262, 466, 881, 866, and get off at Linjiangmen Station.
2. Take city sightseeing bus line t480, and get off at Jiabin Road Hongya Cave Station.
By subway:
1. Take subway line 2 and get off at Linjiangmen Station; leave from Exit A and walk eastward along Linjiang Road for about 700 meters (750 yards) to Hongya Cave.
2. Take subway line 1 or line 6 and get off at Xiaoshizi Station; use Exit 6 and walk northward along Cangbai Road for about 700 meters (750 yards) to the stilt house

2) Ciqikou Old Town

It is now a part of the city of Chongqing, but it was once was a prominent market and trade town next to Chongqing. In the Ming Dynasty, it was a river port and market town. Goods were transported over land and water. Some buildings have been renovated and preserved. Along the streets are shops for porcelain and other items and many restaurants and snack shops. So while you are shopping, you can eat and drink beverages at the same time. Some of the tea houses have performances of traditional Chinese music. It is a place to see more of how Chongqing used to be, eat and shop.

3) Dazu Rock Carvings

The Dazu Rock Carvings area is another UNESCO Word Heritage Site located near Chongqing. Dating back to as early as the 9th century, the carvings consist of thousands of inscriptions written in Chinese characters along the Dazo hillsides. Most of the carvings can be found along sections of Mount Baoding and include epitaphs related to Buddhist philosophies. Numerous carved statues are also scattered alongside the carvings, and most are colorfully painted and have been naturally preserved over the years. The Dazu Rock Carvings can be accessed by bus from Chongqing and are a must for culture lovers and history buffs.

I will introduce more in future.
